We’ve decided that our first objective is to aggregate and classify types of anomalous activity that appear similar. This concept was introduced in our initial “Coming Soon” post, but we wanted to provide more detail about the intent and methodology.
The goal is to compile a collection of evidence that depicts what seems to be the same unexplainable phenomenon. Once gathered, this collection can be analyzed as a dataset.
- Eliminating Refutable Evidence
The first step is to exclude any evidence that can be easily debunked or explained through non-paranormal means. Even compelling examples must be discarded if they fail to withstand scrutiny, as including them risks contaminating the dataset. - Identifying Patterns and Conditions
The next step is to examine the conditions under which the phenomena occur. This includes factors such as time of day, environmental conditions, or specific locations where the activity is reported. Identifying patterns can help us understand potential causes.
By following these steps, we aim to establish a dataset that could serve as the foundation for controlled experiments. The ultimate goal is to validate, or potentially debunk, the phenomena under investigation. If a non-paranormal explanation emerges, it would not only advance our understanding but also refine our focus on truly anomalous events.
Currently, these phenomena are treated as random and non-repeatable occurrences, making scientific validation nearly impossible. However, with a structured approach, we hope to bridge that gap.
Example: Unexplained Movement of Objects
One of the categories we plan to investigate is the unexplained movement of objects. Suppose we collect 20 video recordings showing objects moving without an apparent cause, with reports suggesting the activity is recurring. By comparing these examples, we can identify commonalities, such as environmental conditions or contextual factors, that may explain the movements. If patterns emerge, we can then formulate hypotheses to test through controlled experiments, either to confirm or rule out possible explanations.
Our intent is not only to document these phenomena but to apply scientific rigor to understanding their origins.
